Rest & Reset Gathering at HeartSong Normandie: A Gentle Sunday Space to Reconnect, Recharge, and Begin Again
Rest & Reset Gathering at HeartSong Normandie: A Gentle Sunday Space to Reconnect, Recharge, and Begin Again
In a world that rarely slows down, many of us are carrying more stress, overstimulation, and emotional fatigue than we realise. Even when life looks “fine” from the outside, the nervous system can quietly stay in a state of tension - always switched on, always responding, always moving.
That’s why spaces dedicated to true rest, calm, and human connection matter more than ever.
At HeartSong Normandie, the monthly Rest & Reset Gathering offers exactly that: a welcoming Reiki and meditation circle designed to help you slow down, breathe deeply, reconnect with yourself, and begin the week feeling calmer and more grounded.
Whether you are completely new to Reiki, curious about meditation, feeling emotionally drained, or simply longing for a gentler pace, this Sunday morning gathering offers a supportive space where you can simply be.
What Is the Rest & Reset Gathering?
The Rest & Reset Gathering is a small, intentional Reiki and meditation circle held monthly at HeartSong Normandie in Mortain.
This is not a formal workshop or something you need to “perform” at. It’s a nurturing, calming experience created to support relaxation, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and emotional wellbeing.
Together, the group begins with a gentle guided meditation to help settle the body and quiet the mind. From there, participants are guided into a Reiki share - a supportive experience where people both give and receive Reiki energy in a calm and welcoming environment.
The morning closes softly with space for reflection, connection, and tea together before returning to the day.
Many people leave feeling:
- Deeply relaxed
- More emotionally balanced
- Calmer and clearer mentally
- Grounded and supported
- Reconnected to themselves
- Rested in a way that everyday life rarely allows
What Is Reiki - And Why Are So Many People Drawn to It?
Reiki is a gentle, meditative wellbeing practice that supports relaxation and helps calm the nervous system.
Many people seek Reiki when they are:
- Feeling stressed or overwhelmed
- Struggling to switch off mentally
- Emotionally exhausted
- Burnt out from work or caregiving
- Looking for deeper self-care
- Seeking a calmer connection with themselves
- Interested in holistic wellbeing and mindfulness
- Longing for supportive, healing community spaces
One of the reasons Reiki continues to grow in popularity is because it offers something many people are missing: stillness.
There is no pressure to achieve anything, explain yourself, or be anything other than how you arrive.
For some people, Reiki feels deeply calming. For others, it creates emotional release, clarity, or a sense of reconnection. Often, people simply experience a profound opportunity to rest.
Why Join a Reiki Circle Instead of a One-to-One Session?
While individual Reiki sessions can be deeply supportive, there is something uniquely comforting about gathering in a small circle with others who are also seeking rest and balance.
A Reiki circle creates:
- A sense of community and belonging
- Shared calm and collective grounding
- Gentle human connection
- A supportive environment for beginners
- A regular rhythm of self-care
- Space away from everyday pressures and responsibilities
Many people who attend group wellbeing spaces say they feel relieved simply to be somewhere that allows softness, quiet, and presence.
The Rest & Reset Gathering is intentionally kept small and held with care so participants feel safe, welcomed, and supported.
No Experience Needed - Beginners Welcome
One of the most common worries people have before attending a Reiki gathering is:
“Do I need experience?”
The answer is no.
You do not need to know anything about Reiki, meditation, or energy work to attend.
You are welcome exactly as you are.
The gathering is designed to be gentle, accessible, and supportive for complete beginners as well as those who already have experience with Reiki or mindfulness practices.
If you’ve been curious about Reiki but felt unsure where to start, this is a warm and approachable introduction.
Meet Ema - Creating Space for Deep Rest and Compassionate Connection
The Rest & Reset Gathering is held by Ema, a Usui Reiki Master Teacher with more than 20 years’ experience working in wellbeing, retreats, therapeutic settings, and group facilitation.
Her work is centred around:
- Rest and nervous system regulation
- Mindfulness and meditation
- Self-compassion
- Emotional wellbeing
- Trauma-aware and relational practice
- Creating safe, supportive spaces for people to slow down and reconnect
Drawing from her MA in Group and Intercultural Psychotherapy, alongside meditation, mindfulness, and body-based practices, Ema offers a grounded and compassionate approach that many people find immediately calming.
As one participant shared:
“Ema’s Reiki sessions are held with such calm presence and compassion. Her Buddhist grounding brings a gentleness that allows you to slow down, soften and reconnect. If you’re longing to feel more at home within yourself, I truly recommend her work.”
Why Rest Is Essential - Not Indulgent
Many people postpone rest until they reach breaking point.
But rest is not something we have to earn.
Spaces like this gathering remind us that slowing down is a vital part of wellbeing - emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
When we create time to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves, we often return to life with:
- More clarity
- Greater emotional resilience
- Increased calm
- Better sleep
- A stronger sense of balance
- More capacity for connection and joy
The Rest & Reset Gathering is an invitation to step out of the constant noise and into a quieter, more nourishing rhythm.
